Cujo

After reading all about security (or lack thereof) and the Internet of Things, I became concerned about my home because I have so many IOT devices. I looked at various online reviews and purchased a Cujo. After I received it, it just sat in it’s box for about a month, then one of the viruses hit Europe. I decided to take it out and set it up. I have four wireless routers in my house and about five switches. I also had a DHCP server. Cujo normally wants to be a DHCP server so I had a change slightly my router configuration and configure Cujo in bridge mode so it was no longer a DHCP server. All went well and it was up and running. In a few minutes Cujo saw 34 devices but it didn’t know their names. No big deal (it can take up to 48 hours). I went about my business. An hour later I received an alert somebody was trying to contact my Amazon Echo from a foreign country and blocked it (it gave the IP of the caller and the country). An hour after that I received another notification for the same Echo! I guess it is true that I do need to secure my house.

It has only been day one, so let’s see how I feel over time, but right now I am pretty happy with it!
