Stay-cation
I am in the middle of a ten day stay-cation. My Model X is still on order and every few hours I check to see if the status changes. It is a bit obsessive but from what I read on the forums, it seems pretty normal. Yesterday I freaked out because my delivery date became blank. I turned to the forums and it seems this is normal before it goes into production. And late last night my status turned into production.I am so happy.
Besides watching the whole Harry Potter series in 4K, seeing the Justice League and watching Marvel’s Punisher, I have been looking into the Tesla API. I probably end up writing a few programs to see what I can do. I also want to write a program to monitor new Superchargers. They are suppose to build a few near my home this year and next, and I would like to be alerted when this happens (right now I have to check manually).
Finally I have a subscription to TeslaFi for my Model S. It gives me tons of technical data about my car but I am not sure what to do with it. One of my tasks this week is to write a program to download the data monthly and throw it into a database. It is also interesting to see what my typical drive is costing me. It is definitely cheaper that gas.
Finally, I am having a bit of a problem with my Model S. A few times since I took delivery, my car seems to freeze. Fortunately it seems to happen during the night so I discover it in the morning. I had learned how to reboot my car from one of the videos I watched before I purchased the car so it was just annoying, it didn’t put me into a panic. I am making a list of issues so when I take my car to the shop to switch from winter back to my all-weather tires they can check out my list.
That’s all I have for now. As this is Thanksgiving, have a happy holiday to all.
